Afrodream is an afrobeat/pop ensemble that saw the light in Turin in 2018, with the meeting of Abou Samb, originally from Senegal (vocals and percussion) and Luca Vergano (guitar). He is joined shortly afterwards by Ariel Verosto from Argentina (piano and transverse flute), and later by Jacopo Angeleri (drums), Simone Arlorio (sax) and Gianluca Gallucci (bass).

The sonic atmosphere that characterises their music is the result of a fusion of African rhythms and dreamy, engaging melodies of a more Western kind. On this basis, Abou Samb’s lyrics soar, carrying messages of hope and sometimes intertwined with a delicate melancholy.

This harmonious sound is the result of the interaction between musicians with profoundly different cultural and musical backgrounds, but who have managed to find both a rhythmic and melodic balance between them. All this results in live performances full of energy, which invite you to dance in an almost cathartic state.

Afrodream’s artistic journey includes two EPs: ‘Afrodream’ (2018), ‘Jam Sa Sounè’ (2019) and their debut album, ‘La Teranga’ (2020), which was made possible thanks to a crowdfunding campaign on Musicraiser (http://bit.ly/2vYmTgT).

After numerous performances in Italy, Switzerland and France, Afrodream embarked on an exciting tour in Senegal, where they were guests of honour at the ‘Retba Festival,’ held on the picturesque shores of Lake Rosa in Dakar.

Subsequently, they released the single Adouna, for Noox Recording and in the following summer they started playing all over Europe: Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, England opening some concerts of the Chilean band Newen Afrobeat.

Their latest release was Ethnique in May 2024, feat. Rumba de Bodas, which will anticipate the album planned for autumn 2024.
