For years, ‘dare to live’ hung on a sign above the door of my parental home. That was what I had in mind when I said goodbye to my regular job and started working as a photographer for myself.
I am still happy every day that I dared to take that step!
In my work as a photographer I come to the most special places and to the nicest people. Photographing a band on tour in Mexico or Brazil, photographing entrepreneurs in Spain and Athens for a book,
or simply making portraits and group photos on the beach.
My first assignment was to record the Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2004 (then Mr Brinkhorst). I am a real ‘people’ photographer and I try to capture the atmosphere and emotion of the moment.
On location I feel most at home, the natural light is an extra challenge.
